A fine for Vettel after his scooter ride
F1. The amusing scene in Free Practice 1 on Friday morning was subject to investigation for Sebastian Vettel, who returned to the pits on a scooter. The German driver will only have to pay a fine.
Friday morning, while Ferrari smoothly executed their program, Sebastian Vettel made his comeback in F1, after missing two Grand Prix races due to Covid.
The Aston Martin of the four-time world champion suddenly shut down, forcing the German to park his car at the exit of turn 10.
Once the session was over, Vettel took a marshal's scooter to return to the pits. This didn't sit well with the FIA, who put him under investigation. Especially considering that his helmet was lifted above his forehead. Not very safe, indeed.
However, N°5 will not face any sporting sanctions: the management only imposed a hole in his wallet, amounting to 5000 euros.
Not to be done every weekend!
