Canal+ unveils its set-up for the 2023 F1 season
F1. The F1 season is about to begin. Just a few weeks away from the first Grand Prix of the season, which will take place in Bahrain from March 3rd to 5th, Canal+ is revealing its plans for the 2023 season.
Canal+ has been the official broadcaster of Formula 1 in France since 2013 and offers a already very comprehensive package to its subscribers. Indeed, the group exclusively broadcasts and fully covers all the Grand Prix of the season as well as practice sessions, qualifications, and magazines.
The popularity of the sport has never been higher, and it shows as Canal+ recorded around four million viewers per Grand Prix in 2022.
The program 2023.
To celebrate its tenth season in Formula 1, a few novelties are worth noting. A new opening theme, new settings. But the same team. The duo of Julien Fébreau and Jacques Villeneuve will, of course, be there to commentate. They will be occasionally joined by Formula 1 figures such as Romain Grosjean, who will be commentating five races.
The "expert mode" is improving. If it contained only one stream last season, there will now be five and as many onboard cameras.
Immersion remains the keyword with twice as many documentaries as in 2022. Among them, "Prost, the professor's final lesson," in which the ex-driver recounts his life and career. An unprecedented series immersed in Alpine is also on the schedule. The first episode will be released in March.
Finally, if the group doesn't go into details, it promises an exceptional setup for the Las Vegas and Monaco GPs.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in plain terms.
Canal+ is also obliged to broadcast at least three races per season for free. The first race to be affected will be the second one on the F1 calendar: the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The other races are not known yet.
