Charles Leclerc achieves a hat trick in Melbourne!

Charles Leclerc is leading the drivers' championship with a 34-point advantage over the second-placed driver after just three Grand Prix. He secured his second victory of the season in Australia this Sunday, marking his third podium and perhaps the easiest victory of his career.

« This is the first victory where we were able to control what happened to a certain extent. Of course, I had a very strong car today, and it wouldn't have been possible without it. My tires performed very well, and we were able to take them all the way. I am very happy about it.

Charles Leclerc's Grand Prix was far from easy. With two safety cars entering the track, the Ferrari driver had to handle race restarts, where Max Verstappen particularly enjoys putting on the pressure. A good restart the first time allowed Leclerc to pull ahead of his pursuer, but that wasn't the case the second time, as he experienced a bit of understeer coming out of the final turn. Verstappen was able to get alongside Leclerc, but couldn't overtake him.

It was very difficult at the restart with a severe understeer coming out of the last turn. It was challenging to keep the lead, but then I was able to pull ahead.

With several seconds ahead of Perez at the end of the race, as Verstappen had just retired, Leclerc tried to maximize his weekend by setting several fastest laps, earning him an additional point and perhaps even thinking ahead.

We are only in the third race so to be honest, we cannot think about the championship, but we have a very strong car and if we manage to maintain this pace, we can consider it, so with reliability, we need to maximize all the points we can. It's really enjoyable after two difficult seasons, and that's what makes me happy today.
