Daniel Ricciardo bids farewell to the Woking factory
F1. The Australian is living out his final hours in Formula 1. Before swallowing his last kilometers behind the wheel of a single-seater, he paid a final visit to the McLaren factory.
He stayed for two years. Daniel Ricciardo arrived at McLaren in 2021 and struggled to adapt to this car. The comparison with his young teammate Lando Norris was complicated, as the British driver consistently achieved podium finishes.
The Australian reacted at Monza, in 2021, where after a very impressive qualifying session, he triumphed without faltering in the temple of speed. He brought Woking's team their first victory since the Brazilian Grand Prix 2012.
The 2022 season has been somewhat anonymous, despite a brilliant performance a few weeks ago in Mexico. Its overall performance in 2022 is more disappointing. With 35 points (before Abu Dhabi), it is far from its total of 2021, which was 115 units.
After two years at McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo went to pay a final visit to the employees at the factory in Woking to thank them for his time with the Orange team.
His last Grand Prix will not start in the best way as he will be penalized with a three-place grid penalty, after the collision with Kevin Magnussen, at Interlagos.
