Williams confirms improvements for Silverstone
F1. Dave Robson, performance manager at Williams, confirmed improvements for the British Grand Prix, but only on Alex Albon's car.
Williams is struggling to maintain its 2021 form and finds itself in difficulty once again, despite a highly performing Alex Albon. In order to keep up in the fight, Williams is introducing a new aerodynamic package at Silverstone, which will be first installed on the Thai driver's car.
Dave Robson, Performance Manager at Williams, confirmed it. We have an improved aerodynamic package for this weekend, which we will install on Alex's car only to check its functionality and confirm its efficiency. The body and the underfloor are designed to increase the downforce under the car.
We are excited to race at home and understand the new parts;they are likely to change the balance and behavior of the car, and it will take some time to fine-tune them so that the drivers can exploit them to the fullest. With the sprint race next weekend in Austria, we will try to better understand our parts at Silverstone, adds Robson.
Like other teams, it's the home Grand Prix for Williams, who currently only have 3 points in the championship, at the bottom of the standings.
